One tension or two tensions?
One tension or two tensions?
Does your racquet need one tension or two tensions?
If you are old enough like me, you should notice the current racquet is “square shaped”, as opposed to “round shaped”. This change was actually made by Yonex. The purpose is to increase the area of “sweet spot”, which is the hitting area generating the most power from the racquet. The first Yonex racquet adopting this design is “Isometric” series. Therefore, “square shaped” can be called “Isometric shaped”.
Almost all the current racquets come with this revolutionary design. In order to keep a square shape, Yonex recommends to string such racquet with two tensions: one tension for the main string and another for the cross string. Usually the difference is two pounds or at least one pound.
If your racquet belongs to “Isometric”, “Muscle Power”, “Nanospeed”, “Armortec”, or “ArcSaber” series, you should get two tensions.
Since each customer has his/her own preferred tensions for each racquet, we actually make a “racquet tension” file for your racquet. So you don’t need to remember the tensions, we have the record. What you need is to tell us “I liked the tensions I had before or I did not like it”, so we can make the best adjustment for you.
